My wife and I had a short stop off in Porto whilst on a TUI cruiser and enjoyed the visit to the Cathedral. It’s situated in the historic part of the city. Lovely building and well worth a visit. Very impressive – a must see.

Se Cathedral is impressive. It looks more like a fortress than a cathedral from the outside but it is lovely inside. The detail work on the interior is impressive.

The Cathedral is one of those points that nobody leaves behind in their visit to Porto. With the Vimara statue presiding its access, this temple is quite old, not very big, having the fortress-like look that most old cathedrals have. A good deal of the...More

The cathedral is much more impressive from outside than what you find inside. Restoration work going on. Great views of city. If you are old or heavy or both like me? pick your route judiciously. I went up a very steep way and it was...More

Visited in Sept 2015- hence a late review. Nice terrace and very good views of Porto. Small cathedral in comparison. Good for a visit.

This is a very large Cathedral, and the inside and the outside are definitely worth a visit. The outside of the Cathedral has a terrace-like space where you can find really nice views of Porto toward the Douro River. The outside of the Cathedral also...More

After visiting many cathedrals and churches around the world and in Spain and Portugal, the cathedral is rather small and relatively simple inside. Also in Porto itself, we have seen more impressive churches. Nevertheless, it’s close to the famous Louis I bridge, so when you’re...More

Do go inside to be in awe of the very ornate alters. I think they are restoring it but because we were on our own and just stumbled upon it we couldn’t find any english explanations.

Not as imposing as other Cathedrals but still worth a visit. It also plays an important part in Portos history. As all other churches in Porto a lot of goldleaf. The cloister is tranquil and with beautiful Azulejo tiles (blue tiles). Really worth a visit....More

We just walked up to the cathedral. Line wasn’t bad at all. You only pay if you want to see More than the main sanctuary.
