I like them all and this one is no different. It sits at the side of a medieval square and is worth a stop to visit the interior. Right outside the front of the church is the Padrão do Salado.

At the current location a pre-Romanesque monastery was founded by Mumadona Dias in 949. For its protection a fortification, that preceded the present Castle of Guimarães, was erected. In the beginning of the twelfth century, this monastery would give place to the Collegiate Church of...More

Situated in the middle of the old town of Guimaraes, this is a very old church with beautiful old brickwork and arches and a sense of peace. Being low church anglican by background and now worshipping in a Pentecostal church, I must admit to not...More

This church is pretty but nothing that compares to many of the other ones that we visited. You should stop and look in however for just a couple minutes.

This inside of this church is just as pretty as the outside. Be sure to take a peek into the cloister.

Thrilling to stand in the center of this town with all its history. Look closely at the center structure in town with all its carvings, amazing

Portugal is full of churches, yet every one is very nice. This one too, with an old like exterior. You can enter for 5 minutes and relax.

Whilst visiting the Historic Centre we visited this church and was surprised by the stone simplicity. The side niches held beautifully ornate religious images and the image behind the altar was quite striking
