Being one of the oldest markets in Europe the market of barcelos is a place to visit for those who pass through this city. You can find everything from pottery to footwear, clothing to vegetables. Excellent place to do business

Barcelos also has a huge outdoor market. An amazing assortment of everything from vegetables to wood stoves, clothing and chickens! If you are traveling in the area it is worth a couple of hours just to wander through and maybe do a little shopping!

We had a day here brilliant, never been to a market like this one, well worth a visit, very busy, but some amazing sights from live puppy's and kittens to rabbits and ducklings, cloths, food of every kind

It does not really matter what you are looking for you will certainly find it here,along with live chickens rabbits and every local produce large or small scale will have their wares for sale. Great atmosphere. Should not be missed in this area.

Hundreds of stalls many selling tat at expensive prices, some selling almost reasonable furniture for example but expensive, and yes live poultry in tiny cages which I found upsetting but that is how they do it in Portugal. You could probably get almost anything here...More
