We ate at this pub/restaurant as a family twice during our week long visit to Funchal. Both times we all really enjoyed our food. I think between the seven of us we tried almost everything on the menu. I particularly liked the smoked salmon sandwich. Delicious. The staff were all so nice and friendly. Service was great even though it was very busy both times we visited. They even put on the Scotland game especially for us. And we won! Great night all round!

We came here several times for food and drink and to watch the football. It's a very big place with lots of outdoor and indoor seating and tv screens everywhere. It gets really busy at certain times but the staff and service is incredibly well organised, it's quite amazing. Some reviews have been negative regarding the food, but we found it excellent value for money and some really tasty dishes. I loved the Hole in One salad and my husband's favourite was the spaghetti Bolognese. Finding this bar made our holiday so much more enjoyable. Staff work incredibly hard and deserve a lot of credit.

The Hole in One pub is great for a casual drink or a light meal, and is very popular amongst tourists and locals. It can get very busy in the evenings, and particularly so when sport is showing on the large TV screens. There is also live music in the evenings. We tend to prefer going here at lunchtime or early evening when it is quieter, but whenever you go the service is always quick and efficient.

The main reason for our visit was chancing the Six Nations (and they were showing it!) - nearly every other bar was showing Bundesliga or Tennis highlights. We got a seat outside, and chose from a decent menu and plenty of beers on offer. Food was pretty good, and the service friendly and efficient. Would definitely return for sports. There was even a singer on after the game with lots of people dancing, a great atmosphere!

We had walked past a couple of times so decided to pop in for a quick one as one does. Nice outdoor seating area and a couple of nice features for interest to make it stand apart from other bars. The indoor bar area is classic pub dark but good features again. Excellent gin menu and served with flair, large beer selection as well as other drinks and some food on offer. A nice stop with good table service.

Anne and I have spent most nights here for the last three weeks. Great live music each night from 9pm. Be in by 830 to get a seat inside. Great friendly waiters very professional and fun people. Great range of drinks. Dancing 💃 for all ages . Made so many new friends from afar and local people. Will be back in December.

Went here a couple of times during our holiday in June due to it being the top rated bar on Trip Advisor in our location (outside vidamar hotel). Not really sure why it is top rated as it was a bit flat to be honest, which is surprising because as a football fan i should have loved this place. May be better during the summer season but drinks were expensive compared to other nearby bars and didn't have a great vibe. Others may love it but not for me on this occasion.

Lovely friendly pub went a few times to watch football then entertainment on at 9, lovely seating area outside. It was very handy as hotel was just 5 minutes down the road. Good for light bites although drinks a bit pricey .

Really good value pub, with excellent cocktails and great range of beers. Also try a snack, the bolo de caco with cheese or ham or both in were very inexpensive but delicious if you need something light. Prego especial was also excellent. Nice environment with sports on the TVs around.

Visited this pub a few times this year both lunch time and evening time. Having developed a taste for Coral Tonic beer(it's the sort of equivalent to Guinness) the best pint was definitely secured at the hole in one. My wife really enjoyed the cocktails especially the Pina colada. The staff are very friendly and attentive,adding to the experience. The food is good if a little unadventurous but nice for a quick lunch or snack.
