This is a very nice place to go with the family. The salted water lagoon is quite, with less waves than the open sea (meters away, but really close). Windy, so great for practising some wind water sports (sailing, kitesurf,...).

This is very crowded place and it is a good thing. Because you can see nature in piece. Local fishermen, flamingos, small beaches. At the beginning of the lagoon, there are beautiful beaches, but it is also worth walking/driving around.

We loved Foz do Arelho at the mouth of the lagoon. Popular with the Portuguese on holiday this relaxed beach town was a good place to stay. Various watersports are available around the lagoon, we enjoyed canoeing and paddle boarding. It is possible to find...More

The lagoon has a safe sandy beach with clear water which is ideal for little ones. There are 3 restaurants and a small mini market within walking distance. Quiet and peaceful in July.

Quite a unique setting. Huge lagoon, loads of little pools dotted around, big sand dune at the barrier between the sea and the lagoon. Lovely sandy beaches that go on for miles. Parking, facilities, restaurants dotted about all over the place. We had a fun...More

This lagoon is really stunning with its clear blue water and a quite never-ending beach. You have the chance to watch kite surfers or enjoy the amazing landscape! It really worth a visit!

It is possible to walk all three sides of this lagoon. The north side is the most built up and the walk is along pavements but the south and east sides are great. You can walk from the headland near the fishermans village down to...More
