Had never seen/heard a Fado show. This one was right around the corner from my hotel. It was all of 50-minutes to introduce to the Portuguese singing. There was a mal and female singer plus tow guitarists. The show was enough to whet your appetite....More

This hit the spot as the introduction to Fado we were looking for. Really enjoyed the performance. We were able to turn up without a reservation. Recommended.

This was my introduction to this musical art form. The singers were all outstanding. You will be charmed by the dramatic presentation of song from both male and female singers. Although I don't know Portuguese the feelings behind the song came through strong. A romantic...More

This is the first time I have seen a Fado and the performance was beyond expectations both from the singers and instrumentalists. Located on the third floor of the building, the show lasted for 50 minutes and the ending saw some interaction between the crowd...More

We went here because it was so close to where we were staying. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't very engaging either. I can see why other reviewers complained about the sterile environment. But the performers make a big difference. We saw three flamenco performances...More

Great to see the show, understand what Fado is and it's place in Portuguese life. Musicians and singers were excellent. It earned a check mark on my list of things to do but doubt a second Fado show is in my future

First time for us to enjoy Fado. We have been disappointed by the lack of atmosphere that Fado needs to make the audience feel the deep sentiments link to Fado: nostalgia, sadness. Artists are of good quality. We think that it is mission impossible to...More

Maybe it's not possible to remove the Fado from it's context and still call it Fado. I am no expert or anything, but the Fado I saw in the film they show at the Fado museum really moved me. Fado in Chiado takes place in...More
