Found this weird and wonderful shop in Rossio - there is also one in the airport if you need a last minute, unique gift. Obviously there expressly for the tourists but great fun, colourful and something you probably won't have seen the like of before....More

Most definitely a tourist trap as a tin of sardines goes for €7. But it is marked by year so you can buy whichever year is significant to you.

O Mundo Faanstico da Sardinha Portuguesa was located at Rossio Square. It was specialized in selling sardine cans packed with colorful paper with year of birth printed on it. Staff attitude positive and prices on the high side.

Nope, this is not worth it. The cans are expensive and not worth it. The only cute thing about them is that you can have a can with your birth year. There are a lot of other places where you can get much better stuff....More

I thought it was a nice idea, the shop looks nice and the people who work there are friendly, no doubt. The product is totally overrated and really only for tourists. Maybe a funny present but nothing more. At the end it’s only sardines in...More

It opened last year on the corner of Rossio Square and is illuminated by neon lighting. It is open from 9.30am until 8.30pm. You can buy a colourful tin of sardines commemorating your birth year for €5.00. There's even an Instagrammable sardine throne to sit...More

We went shopping here for a specific year offering it as a birthday attention. Very clearly we asked if we could take them with us, traveling hand-luggage only. Yes was the answer so we purchased our desired can. Clearly and as mentioned in other reviews...More
