Security at the door, which is fine, you just have to take off your bags and any metal items on you. One problem was that it is not clear as to where to go from there, we ended up in the wrong area!! There was...More

Beautifully restored old building now turned into a museum of money. Sadly the expo does not match the high quality of the old structure, but do come to see the vestiges of the old Roman city in the basement.

This museum is free and better than many of the attractions you must pay to visit. It’s in the suitably grand Bank of Portugal building with separate exhibitions situated around a spectacular marble hall. Highlights include lifting a gold bar (will probably end any fantasies...More

We went in on a whim, and were pleasantly surprised to find there was no fee for admittance. The design of the museum is modern, interactive, and fun. Getting your face on a coin and bank note was definitely funny.

This money museum is presented by the Bank of Lisbon and has a good overview of the history of money. I suggested to them that they include Bitcoin in a new exhibit!

We took a short walk to the museum - had a short wait to get in as there was a school group visiting at the same time as us. Very enjoyable and some interactive bits to keep the kids and adults busy.

I confess we weren't expecting much from a museum about money, but this place was genuinely fascinating. Besides being free (which is always nice), it's really well put together, interactive and modern. In the basement you can check out an old section of the ancient...More

A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site,
Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply
"Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake
construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755
earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its
name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in
Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the
