Walking tour most enjoyable with views over the city. Spectacular architecture interesting history and friendly guides. Value for money with all the facilities one needs.

It's a steep walk up winding and cobbled streets from the lower part of the city, but worth it when you get to the magnificent, old University buildings, and the views. Get there early because there are certain to be lots of tours. The ticket...More

Some beautiful sculptures at the top of the hill. Somewhat plain academic buildings including Medicine, Mathematics, Letters & Sciences, Anthropology—with students & faculty buzzing around as usual. Some visual examples of political dissent in the form of graffiti scrawled on buildings. Many interesting historical buildings,...More

Stopped in on the way to Porto. It was a Sunday so we more or less had the entire place to ourselves. Nice cafe w/ a terrace to grab lunch or a cappuccino and relax.

We wandered our way up the hill to the University and were lucky to get there soon after they opened and thus the ticket line was short. Also we were able to get a timed entry not too late in the day to tour the...More

Worth a visit. The cafeteria provided a decent inexpensive lunch including beer. The tower was a worthwhile climb. We also visited the old library. Very interesting. Makes you think what it was like going to University in 1300’s

One of the oldest eurpean Universities, it is amazingly beautiful, specially the law school that used to be a palace. A lot of tourists though

It is considered a "must see" when you go to Coimbra. The visit does not take that long. I would allow 1-1.5 hrs there. Is there any other places you would like to visit while you there? It was all we did. Old town is always... More

Hello! If you want to take the guided tour, or traveling with a big group you may book it in advance. If not you may take the ticket and visit the University at your convenience.
