It's a nice walk, easy if you go down, harder if you go up ;-). But there's nothing really spectacular and no indication of the trees that would allow to may be enjoy it a bit more...

We walked through the botanical garden from the university back down to the city. I don’t know why this isn’t ranked higher! There were amazing bamboo forests and lovely spots to spend a while reading.

What this garden must once have been like is almost unimaginable. Once superb hard landscaping still beautiful though sadly now falling into disrepair this garden is worth a visit to admire the beautiful trees and stunning vision of how to lay out a garden by...More

The gardens give energy to the soul and eyes. I try to walk through every time I can. The good things in life are free and this is one of them. Go to the family farmers marker saturday mornings.

Such a happy place and so full of colour, right in the heart of the city, yet so calm and peaceful!!

I visited in the summer, so the upkeep may have been affected by the university not being in full session. The garden had some very nice quiet areas and unusual features (like its bamboo forest), but most everything was in a state of neglect and...More

After reading some reviews saying that the place was a bit neglected, I came to the Jardim Botânico a bit worried. But to tell the truth, after going around the place, I must say I completely disagree with them -or maybe things have changed meanwhile-....More

Just downhill from the University, and part of the campus. Ancient trees and statuary. Peaceful place for a stroll.

This very old historic botanic garden is located on the side of the hill on which the city is arranged. There are huge mature trees, charming terraces and ornamental pools, stone archways and long promenades. Entry is free.
