Our fabby guide, Joaquim, took us to see this museum while on a walking tour of the city. Beautifully presented, well documented and the venue is gorgeous. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, the entry price affordable and the displays artfully/professionally arranged.

Both the museum and adjoining convent church are interesting. Don't miss the extensive historic exhibit on the upper floor, with explanations in Portuguese and English.

This museum told all about the story of the Terceira island through the years. The tickets are very cheap (2 euros per person). There is also a church inside the Museum.

The museum houses rare artifacts about Terceira and the Azores in general though not many descriptions are in English.

The musuem is always free on Sunday, so that made our choice easy. Lots of History, dating back to 1580. The curator is to be commeneded, great mix and knowledge.

This museum can easily rival any big city museum. The collections were varied (from art to history to geology) and impressive. A good way to spend a few hours should the rain fall in Angra.

This museum is surprisingly good given Angra is such a small city (about 35,000). Not very many other cities that size have a museum of this quality. The highlight is the church which is almost as big as the cathedral and much more attractive. You...More

I believe the tour costs 3 E and well worth it. Learn about the history of the island and see such beautiful artifacts. Trip too us about 2 hours.
