Beautiful wild and yet romantic setting with plenty of lovely paths for short and long walks and nice little rivers running through. Peaceful and perfect for an outing alone or with friends or family. Perfect for pique-niques. There are also a couple of restaurants.
Beautiful spot but take the second turn off, the first only goes to the hotel. Pretty walks and a few nice shops. Some parking but not a lot on a busy day.
Plenty of winter sunshine in January great lots of walks to explore don't forget to visit the piri piri chicken restaurant, and enquire about the accomadation great winter retreat!

nice to walk to the little village ! with the source from where the water Monchique is distributed and a nice pub

Stop off here on the way up the mountain if you need a rest-break. The main square is pleasant enough for a drink. Otherwise continue onwards for better views/vibe and food at Foia.
