Beja is a small and cute town in center Alentejo. You need to stop here and visit this Castle. Now the tower is open so you can do 183 steps to reach the terrace and have a perfect overview of territory.

Great castle, well presented, and a fanatic keep (tower). The old and tower are free, as all public monuments and museums should be. The view from the top is superb. Don't miss out. The gentleman at the information centre there is very friendly and helpful. Well done Beja 😊

Again a little stronghold free of charge. We enjoyed the view. You can take all the stairs up to the top. It was really calm there... They do have a lunch break though! Be aware!
