I visited this church on Whit Monday when it was nicely decorated with birch branches and flowers which made its simply beautiful interior look festive almost romantic. I liked it very much.

Lovely ancient church, and the place to see the Golden Spurs - a central pivot of Kortrijk history and Flemish nationality. Chapel of the Counts of Flanders is also well worth seeing, with paintings of each count in alcoves around the chapel, somewhat like the...More

If you like romanesque, just a couple of minutes from the main square, on your way to the Broel Towers, you can visit this very old and quiet church.

A new piece of information for my trivia list! Nice church with a large series of full size portraits in the niches of the counts chapel. Despite a rack indicating information should be available in 6 languages only Flemish was present.

I like this church. It’s quite unique and it has a lot of historic events. As I approached it, it looked quite majestic, a church worthy for a king. I wasn’t too far from it! It used to be connected with a castle. However, while...More

The Onze Lieve Vrouwe Kerk has been beautifully restored. The outside is Roman/Gothic in style, while the interior has some gothic and baroque elements. The highlights are the chapel of the Counts of Flanders (all of them painted along the walls of the chapel), the...More
