A bar that has all the best of what an Irish bar is without the paddywhackery. This is a great bar run by 2 Irish brothers who are the real McCoy, Great Guinness, great service and a nice crowd. Highly recommended..

O’Malleys is the sort of Irish pub that I like, i.e. it isn’t remotely Irish and avoids all that plastic Paddy rubbish that seems to prevail worldwide. The interior has a traditional pub decor and they play music (not Irish during my visit) and show sport on the televisions.
They offer a fine selection of beers, including 7 on draught, and if you want to avoid the stronger Belgian beers, I’d recommend the Battin Gambrinus, which is what I’d call a good “session” lager.

The place is set across this little square near the river and across from Hotel Cathedral. It was a cool location and a mouthy bartender but he also was funny...
