About
Discover the largest Belgian Chocolate museum in the world in the center of Antwerp. In fourteen thematized spaces visitors are taken through a 60 to 90 minute chocolate journey. Starting in the cocoa plantations at the equator and following the cocoa bean to the world’s largest storage port of cocoa in Antwerp. A giant fantasy machine demonstrates how chocolate is made and how the velvety taste is created. Visitors discover why Belgian chocolate is world famous.

Well done but needs more context
Sep 2021 • Couples
A really cool, modern, well done ‘museum’. Enjoyed the audio guide option that allowed you to learn about different things while still distancing from other people.

If you have anyone in your party who is sensitive to sensory experiences the first 4 rooms may be tough. While they’re well done and interesting they are very sensory overwhelming (i.e. loud machinery noises, changing lights, smells, etc.)

We were a little disappointed that there was no clear information about how chocolate is predominantly a child slave industry or Belgium’s historic role in it. While the Cocoa Horizons part of the museum was interesting it felt very self congratulatory without acknowledging the history of how the chocolate trade has gotten here. The photo section of this part of the museum also seemed in poor taste. Hopefully this is a part of the history of Belgian chocolate that can be added in the near future.

Wonderful
Aug 2021
I’ve done various chocolate tours over the years but this one is in a different league. Absolutely fab. Lots of terrific special effects, particularly the Virtual Restaurant. Not too much dull reading as is sometimes the case. Covid has put the kibosh on tastings but to compensate you do get a nice little bag of treats at the end. The building itself makes quite an impression, there is no missing it. For your bearings, it is adjoined to the Radisson Blu, adjacent to the Chinatown Gate & opposite Antwerp Cental Station.

Great solo experience
Aug 2021 • Solo
I had a wonderful time during the tour. There's a lot to see and listen, it is beautiful, informative, it has great places for selfies and the COVID-19 measures are respected. They gave me a bag of little chocolates to compensate the lack of tasting experience due to COVID-19. Overall it is something you can do alone and not feel lonely. I loved it.

Great experience, great adaptation to covid regulations
Aug 2021 • Couples
The museum was a lot of fun and very innovative in their use of an audio tour using nfc tags to get information about the individual subjects. Because of covid some things were different than they used to be, but the effort they have made to still keep this experience as enjoying as possible can be seen. The individual rooms were very nicely decorated and the tour was interesting and fun to follow! A great experience for a fair price.

Due to the COVID measures, it is currently not possible to taste in the museum. Unfortunately, we cannot do anything about that. We solved this by giving each visitor an Experience box with 12 different types of chocolate, including explanations. All the flavors that can normally be tasted in the museum can now be fully enjoyed at home. After all, Belgian chocolate is delicious. We therefore hope that you have fully enjoyed the flavors of Chocolate Nation at home.

An Absolute Must!
Jul 2020
Who doesn't love chocolate? This is a perfect way to discover the full journey of chocolate and learn just how Belgian chocolate is elite. The museum is well laid out and incredibly interactive. Suitable for all ages and I would happily go back and experience the tour all over again. My only qualm was the chocolate tasting bit (which undoubtedly would have been the best part) was closed due to Covid -_-. However they gave away free samples to make up for it..

Great organized and super clean museum. The information is presented in a very surprising way. Super educational, I am so happy that I now know the background of everything that has to do with chocolate. I'm definitely going here again soon.

Definitely GO! It’s awesome
Jul 2020 • Couples
What an awesome experience! You can get audio guide in 5 different languages. We walk through different rooms ourselves with animation and light. You see the whole production line of chocolate in real life. It’s really really awesome to see how it’s done. After that you walk with the audio guide through different rooms where you can decide what audio you want to hear. So everyone can walk by themselves. It’s super interesting and a great experience. In the last room you can smell different tastes of chocolate and you get a box of 10 flavors to take home. And of course the shop at the end where you can buy sooooo many different kinds and flavors of chocolate is amazing!!
