Beautiful huge museum with more trains, history and attractions than I could possibly cover in one day. If you can take one of the tours by the museum curator he explains the history of so many of the artefacts, carriages and locomotives
We lived in Utrecht and came back for a holiday. My kids could remember the museum and even certain attractions in the museum. It will give you a good overview on the history of railway in the Netherlands.
Experience yourself when you walk through the interior of a train with the different types of cabins they offered in the past and a lounge area. So fascinated by it! Will definitely come back with my kids if they come with me here next time.
