On our way to the Flower Market, came through the square. Interesting, lots of tourists and wish we had been able to enjoy some of the restaurants that surround the square. Worth a visit! Lots of cameras, ipads, and iphones in use!

I like this square...just outside the crazyness of the red light district and the dam square. Full of pubs...perfect for a beer or a meal

A good place to stroll with beautiful statues and good cofee shops. Easy to reach with tram near the center of Amsterdam and nice area for restaurants.

This was a nice little square surrounded by restaurants and is great for people watching. There’s also a bronze replica of Rembrandts Night Watch that is worth seeing.

Rembrandtplein along with Dam Square and Leidseplein are probably the best known squares in Amsterdam. There are a lot of restaurants with patios surrounding the small square that has Rembrandt overlooking his characters from “The Night Watch”, one of Rembrandt’s best known painting. The Rembrandtplein...More

On our first visit to Amsterdam, over 20 years ago, we stayed in a hotel on this square (the Schiller) and had a wonderful Indonesian meal - we still remember that holiday fondly. Walking through the square on a day-trip to Amsterdam this month I...More

Vibrant plaza full of energy surrounded by small bars and cafes. Some nice musicians playing. But the attraction is the life size statues depicting the night watch. Good luck getting a clean shot.

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of
tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists
and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the
best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe.
Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops
of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones
Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods
such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring

We stayed on a houseboat on Amstel St just beside Bar Lempicka. That was a 15 minute walk to Rembrantsplein. And Amsterdam is so flat it's easy to walk around, and it feels safe too, just watch out for trams and cyclists... More
