I was actually looking for Hofjes, or Almshouses, when I came across this repurposed church, with its doors opened invitingly. I couldn't resist and went inside for a look. There was a preparation for a concert going on, I did not have a reservation, so...More

It's great to spend a couple of hours just wondering about. There not many tourists, and the locals just do their business, so you feel the place and its peacefullness. It's worth being there more than museu s

One of the can’t miss canals in Amsterdam. If you’re wandering, it’s unlikely that you will miss it, but make sure and walk along regardless.

I loved the neigbourhood, the boathouses were so beautiful you can spend hours walking along the canal and taking photos. Some very nice bars and restaurants can heal you hunger or thirst during the walk.....

A group of us took a nice walk around. Spent time just watching the people and the boats on the canal. A couple of friends decided on the boat tour. City center was nice and clean, people are proud of their business and it shows.

Both the canal and the street wrap around the city center on the west, south and east. The Jordaan, where we stayed for a week on house boat in mMay, is in the west, Great neighborhood location.

A great walking city. Very safe. My teenage nieces walks on their own even deep in the night. If pickpocketting reaches the evening news, it says enough about the city. Have fun in amazing amsterdam.
