We took a KINboat.. just opposite Central Station. The captain, a real Amsterdam local, guided us with humor through the canals. The light festival itself wasn’t spectacular but the captain was a good story teller with historical anecdotes. Great to cruise the canals by night....More

My partner and I are staying in Amsterdam for a year, so we have our own bikes. We decided to check out this event at our own leisurely pace. After downloading a map of the route that the canal boats take, we set out. It...More

You'll see them during the period between November until January if you take the evening water cruise. Some of them are really good like schoolchildren's drawings projected onto the facade of the Hermitage whereas few are a joke like the LED strip light hung along...More

We paid 22 Euros for takin this cruise during the light festival. It was illuminated and good, however I am not sure if its really worth the price. An usual cruise should do instead of this one...

Made an online reservation with the Blue Boat Company, which is situated immediately outside Restaurant & wine bar, Momo & opposite the Irish Pub & Hardrock Cafe. Whilst this was all very professional & efficient in the booking process, the quality of the boat, the...More

The term festival should not be applied to this; the event is basically composed of a boat tour that goes through a series of light shows. Although a couple are interesting, the majority are disappointing and should not be called "Art".

Enjoyed it very much despite the fact that the boat that took us around was too crowded and noisy. Could hardly hear comments.

We liked the bridge that had been turned into a black hole, sucking boats into it. And we liked an audio wave that jumped about with the volume of the boat's motor. There was a very clever conjuring up of the northern lights .... but...More

If you happen to visit Amsterdam in December January, don't miss to take evening boat ride to enjoy Light festival. It takes you around the city giving historical significance and cool light shows on the way

Total tourist trap, amateuristic audio tour, not very inspiring artworks. Better to spend you’re time and money on something else!

Forgot to mention... the canal boats run all evening, one after the other. You can buy a ticket online or at the kiosk. We waited about 10 minutes to get to the front of the line.
