If you have an hour or two to spare in Zug, check out the lake and valley views from the top of Zugerberg, take a short walk through the woods, and enjoy the sounds of bells from the cows grazing the surrounding pastures.

The trip up the mountain is fast and efficient, and the starting point can be reached by Bus or private car. There is parking available. The tariffs are not excessive although the ticket for the dog was the same price as for ourselves!

This cable car journey is half an hour train from Zurich so it’s a suggested route if you have a short stay in Zurich. Compare with other cable car journeys, this is not very special but still a pleasant trip. The scenery along the bus...More

I went here and it was a nice and comfortable ride. Also it was cool riding up the mountain and a great view. If there is snow you can rend sledges and ride down the mountain, unfortunately there was no snow when we were here.

Nice ride to the top of Zugerberg. Good views on a clear day from the railway and from the top. Lovely hikes through woodlands in both summer and winter. The cows in their bells are lovely to see in summer.

These are nice walks, all connected and well represented in a map available at the info point. It's very near home so it's easy, but it's not special as compared with other mountains and railways nearby (see the Jungfrau region for that!).

The experience is exciting and comfortable with lovely views! The timetable worked perfectly both ways & with a Zug Pass. Highly recommended uplift to the stunning Zugerberg!

The funicular takes you up to a great walking area. You can make walking, cycling and jogging in a wonderful nature. You see the lake of Zug and you can eat and drink - or just have a coffee there.

I could not believe that world can change in a few minutes by taking the "Zugerbahn", which takes you out of the fog into a white winter scenario with sun and blue sky. There you have the possibility to do different wintersports or just walking...More
