The males were quite interested, but didn't actually work out what it does. The odd bit moved, but nothing was obvious. Maybe it wasn't working when we were there. The red phone booth did look a bit out of place!

Passed thru this area a few times throughout my stay at Montreux. It was dark at night and during the day, it was ok. Nothing much to see except for the Freddie Mercury statue.

Today the machine had malfunctioned; the mechanisms were moving, but there was no ball to be propelled by them. Hopefully someone periodically checks on it and puts things right when it does this. I can see how this Rube Goldberg-style machine could be quite entertaining, when it works.…

Right by the lake and the Place du Marché, this phone booth is actually a sculpture that looks like a game. A series of mechanism move a small metallic ball and you get caught up following the ball moving around. It belonged to the creator of the Jazz Festival and the Swiss artist, Pascal Bettex, has made other interesting pieces. Stop by Allo Claude and have a look.…
