Came here twice. As with other Swiss cities, the city is hilly and tidy. I like walking in the area especially in the evening when many joggers are on the street.

This charming plaza with the fountain and the town hall, is here in central Lausanne! The chimes and story that can be heard (through some kind of speaker!) is quite wonderful, as you watch the figures move on the clock in the plaza. (We heard...More

Must include this stop in your visit to Lausanne. Nice place to take few pictures and a coffee or something to drink at one of the coffee shops around the market.

While this is definitely a touristy square, I think one of my favorite memories of my visit to Lausanne was sitting here by the historic fountain, listening to the violin music, and watching people go by. There’s something tangibly Swiss about the spot; I’m sure...More

Every hour on the hour, the clock opens up a little door and lines of historic figurines circle round while the voice recounts local history. Great if you understand French. Attractive if you don't.
