Beautiful, merits a close inspection

Facing the lake in Ouchy, offered by the Thai royal family who lived in Lausanne. Simply beautiful and serene.

Small
Dec 2020 • Solo
It is really small. Maybe in a sunny day it is better to visit it. I would like to come back again in summer to have better photos. It is located very close to the lake and around 15 minute on foot from the metro station Ouchy.

Thai Architectural Wonder in the land of the Swiss
Aug 2019 • Friends
Fantastic piece of artwork donated to the Community of Switzerland by the Thai kingdom.

You could definitely spend a lot of time just viewing every crafted detail of this structure.

Our yoga group also got to do some meditation inside.

Worth the visit if you are in the area.

Very Thai in Switzerland
Jul 2019 • Family
Probably mean nothing to some, but this small golden pavilion means a great deal to Thai people and local Swiss. With a little walk from metro station, it could be enjoyable lingering along the lake or spending time in Olympic museum nearby.

The pavilion itself is very beautiful in gold. Its color is still bright and shiny through camera lens. Playground next to the pavilion is good for kids.

an original experience

This pavillion that was given to the city, is an anachronym in the park! It is beautiful and well worth visiting but could have been placed more to its advantage. Whenever I am in the region I go to admire it.

Beautiful pavillon in a park of Ouchy
Jan 2019 • Solo
Thai Pavillon is a construction, which seems a thai temple, located in the promenade of Ouchy, a little town close to Lausanne. The temple is beautiful and from here you can see very beautiful views of Leman Lake and Alps.

Great Honor for visiting the Thai Pavilion
Sep 2018 • Friends
The structure is typical Thai style this was built to honor the Great King Rama IX of Thailand. The beloved King was living in Lausanne during his young ages with his former King Rama VIII.

A moment of peaceful reflection in Lausanne
Jun 2018 • Couples
Dedicated to the memory of the world's longest serving monarch, King Bhumipol Adulyadej of Thailand (b. 1946 d. 2016) this small temple near the south east corner of the Parc du Denantou, by the lake in Ouchy, Lausanne is a lovely place to spend a few moments of reflection. Bhumipol spent most of his school and university years living in Lausanne and developed passions for photography and jazz saxophone while living in the area. You won't spend a long time here; the temple is just a single open area with an elaborate traditional Thai roof. But the view is lovely and very few people approach it. Other than the occasional Thai tourist. The King was revered and this temple has become somewhat of a pilgrimage destination since he passed away in 2016.

Only negative: the city of Lausanne has seen fit to erect an ugly blue sign right in the middle of the lake view. But if you focus on the lake instead of the sign you can make it disappear in your mind.
