This modest church is worth walking a few minutes up to. We thought the gravestones around it were interesting. Evidently, English climbers who died on the Matterhorn are buried here. Or at least, some of them are.

Recently had the opportunity to visit this church. It is not very elaborate, but beautiful in its simplicity. Worth taking a few minutes to visit inside.

Charming and atmospheric little church, and redolent of the early (and English-dominated) mountaineering era in Zermatt.

We visited to attend the 6.30 pm service. A warm welcome... mostly English in congregation. The history of this church is part of Zermatt's history and so worthwhile to take time to see it

Wondered in here on our trip. Welcoming and peaceful. Beautiful stained glass windows & a view of the Matterhorn from the front door!

If your into Matterhorn history you must visit. Built after the first ascent, it has details of some the climbers on wall plaques.

It is a beautiful church in Zermatt. Unluckily when we were there in afternoon it was closed. From outside it looked awesome.

I wandered into this lovely church during my recent weekend stay in Zermatt. This church is simple and elegant with lovely wall paintings and decor. A nice little retreat from the Zermatt shops and restaurants nearby.

This pretty spired church just above the main street, just on from the Romantica Hotel, tells a bigger story than might first strike you. Built at the turn of the previous century with funds raised by the Alpine Club, St.Peter's is a foundation stone in...More
