Overview
More
One of the most spectacular ways to cross the Alps: the Bernina Express from Chur/Davos to Tirano (via St. Moritz) links up regions with different languages and cultures. This is not a rack railway and the train winds its way gently through splendid scenery. One of the highlights is the panoramic journey through the UNESCO World Heritage RhB. On the highest railway across the Alps, the Bernina Express climbs up to the glistening glaciers before descending to the palms of Italy far below. This rail link between Northern and Southern Europe builds bridges between regions with different languages and cultures.

This ride is all about when you take it. We went from Zermatt to St. Moritz (Glacier Express) then to Torino (Bernina Express). So the views were underwhelming and if doing the trip again we would skip. The best views are on order Zermatt (by...More

Despite getting out of my bed at 5am (what sweet hell...) the trip was well worth the lack of sleep. We left from town center at 7am and made our way to Tirano. Theres a church built in the 1500s, which granted is stunning, but...More

We did the 8 hour Bernina from Lugano to Chur. The 1st half of the bus trip was interesting with tight roads and pretty scenery, but the rest of the bus ride was plain. The entire Express train ride was riveting. Spectacular views, impressive engineering...More

I’m sure this is a beautiful adventure, but first you have to know you have a three hour bus ride from Milan to get to the train. Once we finally got there, we were told the train could not go into the Alps because of...More

We took the Glacier Express from Zermatt to St Moritz yesterday, and I was surprised to find the Bernina Express equally amazing. Comfortable coaches with panorama windows for taking in the incredible views. We went to Tirano, Italy for lunch and returned to St Moritz...More
