The lake is very nice, in summer usually 21-23°C with very clear water. I would estimate the visibility to 3-5m. In the city of Neuchâtel, there are spots with grass everywhere to do pic-nic, bbq, trees to put a slack line and some showers (with...More
We rented two bikes today in Neuchâtel at the harbor. Super cheap (2chf for 4h, 6chf for 24h), with children seats in the back and children’s helmets for free. The bikes were in good condition and a deposit of 40chf has to be paid in...More

Lac de Neuchatel is the largest lake located entirely in Switzerland. All around the lake are stunning views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. You can enjoy a boat tour or ride a bicycle around the lake to enjoy the stunning views.

I'm a tourist in my own country and so I can't be of much help. However, Neuchâtel is a lovely city with much to see and I like to think that it is best to stay there instead of a small village in the area removed from everything. Your daughter will like it, too; there are many young folks in the city (university). For cycling, I recommend Bienne. There are many (easy) 'bike-only' trails all around the lake.
Wishing you both a nice journey.
Let me know how it went.
