It was a really beautiful and scenic train ride from Zurich. We walked around the old town, stopping in shops, sights, restaurants etc. A really relaxing and beautiful afternoon spent. The architecture was mesmerizing as well.

Easy day trip from Zurich by train. There is an excellent Tourist Information Center in the train station where you can get a free city map with a self-guided city walk. Covered bridges are interesting and different - try to read some of the history....More

Found it to be an enjoyable, fun walking tour around the old town. The SSB rail visitor center offers a good walking tour map. The old medieval towers above the city were amazing. The Jesuit church was amazing.

Go see the wall and towers. Totally worth it. Go early in the morning (I think it opens at 8am) and see it without having to bump into people. I started at Wachtturm. Use google maps and go. Bring your smartphone or camera.

The Old Town is filled with Modern Day Money! The shops and setting are just wonderful as you pass through the pedestrian zone. Well worth it.

I Love Luzern. It is a big city wrapped up in a tiny package. To sum it up, unless you want to really really go from lake to mountaintops, you can pretty much do everything on foot. You can walk from one place to the...More
