Jean Tinguely is most likely Basel’s most famous artist; became recognized internationally 1960-80’s. I thought I knew my Western European art history, but i had never heard of him previously. Tinguely’s 3D moving sculptures using “found objects” are work of a creative genius! People of...More

...but not only for kids! The part of this museum that displays these famous inventions is very nice and interactive...push the button and the machine moves and makes noise. The annoying thing is that the machine moves for 30 sec. or 1 min and than...More

AMAZING, don't miss this. Right on the river, cafe was wonderful, museum itself amazing with engaging exhibuts by Tinguely. Kid friendly and engaging. Many exhibits as well, easily navigatable. So glad we went to this.

Well organized museum, the permanent collection is good but there are many other items by other artists, working in a similar manner of Tinguely. In case you have the chance, I suggest to visit it.

Quite interesting, some English artist had an exhibition on, a bit too pretentious for me, The Emperor's New Clothes comes to mind.

What a great place for a family visit. The grandkids were fascinated by the various exhibits a lot of which were hands on.

This museum of modern art is truly unique. I’ve never been to a museum with interactive art, so this was really interesting. The art is very unusual and has great descriptions to match.

Visited this museum on a quiet Sunday morning in December. Were intrigued by the exhibits, many you can interact with. The permanent collection is good but there are many other items by visiting artists, working in similar mediums to Tinguely. This is definitely a must...More

Just phantastic, a must for lovers of Tinguely and even those who are not aware of him, and easy to get to by pub
