The gardens are lovely, peaceful and tranquil setting. We took a picnic which we enjoyed while enjoying the surroundings. 3 Euro entry. Maybe a little restaurant or refreshment area would be an added advantage. Lovely would certainly recommend.

total waste of money. Overgrown and completely neglected. few herbs sprouting in pots but most everything else derelict. Even the grass at the front entrance hasn't beem mown in many many weeks. Spent your money and time elsewhere.

At least in mid October. A little color on the leaves, but mostly evergreens, dead fruits and vegetables and things past their prime.

We visited in Autumn which was wonderful. The colours reflected in the pond were spectacular. Interesting greenhouses with an ariel walkway. Turtles in the pond. All beautiful. You cab even walk "under " the walls. Plenty of seats to rest. An easy walk from the...More

These gardens are small and poorly presented in terms of information. It's not unpleasant to stroll around and there are some lovely big trees ( including a cedar of Lebanon) but you can see these from a stroll along the city walls. There were few...More

We arrived early and for a time it seemed that we were the only ones in this beautiful place. This is not one of those overwhelming (yet worthwhile gardens) places. It is well explained and quiet and so much to learn even if you are...More

Really disappointed on our visit here. Appeared to need some serious weeding and a good tidy around. Could be so much better, not worth the entrance fee in our opinion. Such a shame.

it was in the afternoon, we just walked around Lucca and we decided to head to the Botanical gardens, created inside the walled area of the city,.....in 1820, so I can only say it is nice, well indicated what is each plant, nice sequoias....and young,...More

We only visited these gardens because it was a double ticket with the Guinigi Tower and luckily it was a lovely sunny morning after a couple of rainy days. Lovely, peaceful gardens, not highly manicured or formal but relaxing and interesting to walk around with...More

Not sure this lived up to my expectations of a Botanical Garden....a lot of planting in pots, not sure if that is for portability during winter months, but a number of specimens looked the worse of any TLC. Certainly most were well labelled up, which...More
