Lucca was Puccini's birthplace and the museum traces his life in pictures as well as cataloguing his musical accomplishments. The exhibit also includes costumes from a Met production of Turandot and several other operas.

Granted this has very historical significance as the birthplace of Puccini and I certainly would say that, at the price, it is worth visiting. However it is very sparsely furnished and is more a museum to letters/music scores. Well routed tour with good audio but...More

Don't forget to buy your ticket across the square before you enter the museum. The museum itself is in the house where Puccini lived with his family. You can see letters, sheets of music written by Puccini of course, pictures. You will get a map...More

It is always a wonderful place to visit and re-visit. A very informative introduction to the Maestro and his operas. Periodically there are new additions made making it a place to visit again. And a room not to missed is the Turandot room with its...More

Well worth a visit for any opera fan. Seeing the detail of his life up close and personal was wonderful. Entrance fee reasonable.

As Lucca is supposedly all about Puccini, I decided that a visit to Lucca would be not complete without visiting the museum. It was a pleasant introduction to his life & times. It’s nice that it’s set in a house.

I don't identify with the few critical comments about this magical place. Surely it can only be dull if you're not into Puccini and operatics. In which case, why would you go anyway? It doesn't set out to be an interactive theme park. This is...More

Lucca and Puccini go together. This was a wonderful exhibition portraying some of his original works , some costumes from his well known operas, all housed in this unique second story apartment where he was born. Anyone interested in Puccini should also see the Puccini...More

I think if we had come here and just had a look around, it would have been a slightly dull half an hour, but we were shown around by “trainee guide”, Carla and she brought the whole experience to life. We loved it and learnt...More

Lucca is proud of Puccini but this museum does not do him justice.Provides a series of snapshots into his life but in no particular order. Could be so much better.
