Lucca is a beautiful but small town and the tower is a great way to see the whole city, the wall and past the wall. The climb is very easy. Easier than the Statue of Liberty or the cathedral in Florence (if you’re familiar). It’s...More

Not overpriced at all. I have been to lots of cities and climbed lots of towers. However, this is the first with a garden at the top, plus, Lucca has a really interesting skyline.

You need to be prepared to climb 200-plus stairs, but the Guinigi Tower is a super spot to get lovely panoramic views of Lucca itself and the surrounding Tuscan hills and countryside.

A long climb up the stairs, but worthwhile to see the rooftops of Lucca and beyond. Also, there are trees growing out of the rooftop - must be unique. Remember to take your camera!

The younger set of our family paid the fee and climbed the tower up spilling narrow steps to emerge on top. They described the view of Lucca as magnificent and with the climb

Lots of stairs yes - if you are super afraid of heights it's probably not for you - but it's worth it. Lovely view, 360 degrees. I just did the tower ticket, not the combo - as the weather was hot and I didn't want...More

Worth the many stairs! The views from the top are lovely - you can see just how big the centro storico is... and pick out your ideal apartment :-)

This tower is such a cool experience. Reaching the top and being among greenery was exciting , but seeing Lucca from "above" was exhilarating. A must see and do experience in Lucca!

Paolo Guinigi who built the tower was himself a silk merchant so I imagine the trade was concentrated in the area and there are a few craftsmen still pursuing/demonstrating the trade in the city. Afraid I can't help you with... More
