Guila was the funniest, interesting, and most knowledgable guide I have ever encountered. She was magnificent at providing interesting information and fun tidbits about the Florentine and art history. Her passion reached our entire group. Guila brought us into her world and fascinated us with her stories of the David production, why they sculpture was made the way it was, how other sculptors tried to follow the style of the sculpture. She did this with all the art pieces that we were seeing in the Ufizzi gallery to. After a day with Guila I wanted to take an art history class with her as the teacher! There are the highlights that we saw in each museum, afterward we had 30 minutes to 45 minutes to explore the rest of the museum. It was enough time to see other art work, especially where the David is located. I recommend going in the morning when the museums are first opening as you have more space to walk around and explore the art. In the afternoon the museum are packed and it's hard to really stand in front of and admire the art work. The Ufizzi gallery was last after lunch. We saw a handful of artwork. Again, and I cannot say this enough, Guila with her passion brought us into each art piece and the depth of what each painting meant, how and why it was painted that way, and what it represented during that time period. The tour was worth every second and provided a beautiful insight into Florence and it's history.…

We used Viator to book with City Wonders. Our guide for Ufizzi was Julia. Julia was magnificent. She has such a great personality, loves her job, and is very knowledgeable about the art. We wish we had her for the Academia tour as well

This is one gorgeous place on earth! Shame I had just a day! But it has history soaked through and through! It has bustling streets full of both locals and tourists, so be mindful of how you walk and I was advised pick pockets. But I was not a victim of one so that’s a bonus. If you have time do one of the quick “hop on hop off” tours. You can get tickets online or at the tourist information centre which is located opposite Florence SMN station. Next to the church. I was able to do line A. So it will be line B next time. …

For most tourists it would be impossible to see and do everything in a few days. This was a great introduction to Florence and the Uffizi by a very well informed, interesting and entertaining guide, Rosa. She led us at a good pace always managing to get our small group into close up positions for the best views of buildings and artworks. She included everyone in her chats and assisted us slower ones into elevators where possible. She was very generous with her time and after completion of the tour she sat and suggested other tours we could plan in and around Florence.…
