The plaza is right behind the Academia gallery. Nothing much to see other than the fountain statue in the middle. Hotels all around and not maintained properly. Beware of the pigeons discharges on your head all around the plaza.

A small market was in progress during our visit but we made our way through to enjoy the statue of Grand Duke Ferdinand on his horse .

I quite enjoyed coming across this Piazza. Lots of happy buzz and no traffic. Not too busy with tourists and 3 nice statues to visit.

The piazza itself is a bit plain with only an equestrian statue in the middle, but it packs a punch in terms of the views and history. On one side is the Annunziata basilica. On the other is the Ospedale degli Innocenti, designed by Brunelleschi...More

It's one of those places you just find when you walk in Florence. There's the statue of the horsemen in a small square. I wouldn't say make this a part of your trip but keep your eyes open.

The Piazza Della Santissima Annunziata is quite large but very quiet. There is a strange "peace" when you walk along this area. There are no shops or restaurants to speak of and looks quite unkempt and not terribly clean, at least that is the impression...More

This square is quite nice, more quiet than others. Also because there is no restaurants on the piazza. But there is a church, the church of the Annunziata, therefore the name of the piazza. In the middle the Equestrian Monument of Ferdinando I. This is...More

We found this one by accident whilst wandering aimlessly from the bigger tourist ticket items by the river to our hotel and were immediately entranced. What should have taken us two minutes to walk across occupied significantly longer. Flanked on three sides by porticoes, the...More
