Right next door to the Academic Gallery and David there is this archaeological museum. There is a wide range of excellent exhibits including mummies, a chariot and much more. You also overlook the large pleasant gardens next door with open windows resulting in fresh air...More

Not what I expected but the museum was very interesting. It is full of mainly Egyptian artefacts but having already visited the Egyptian Museum in Cairo this was a little disappointing however my friends who haven’t been enjoyed it. We only paid €2 entry fee...More

We stumbled in here after we visited Galleria dell'Accademia, and we were pleasantly surprised. The first area wasn't exciting, but once we got around the corner, wow. There are so many mummies and Egyptian artifacts it was amazing. They have an actual top of a...More

The display of antiquities is really interesting- some pieces date back to the Bronze Age. Good explanation of Roman objects. The Egyptian mummies were fascinating and much better than we have seen elsewhere. A great find.

Fine museum. Nit-pickers can find fault anywhere they go; in truth, this is a great museum and we enjoyed the displays on the first and second floors. We booked tickets for the first slot on a Saturday morning hoping the weather would cooperate on our...More

When I went, I was lucky enough to be guided by Cristina, an archeologist herself, with passion for the museum. She knows a lot, I asked a lot of questions and there was just so much stuff worthwhile seeing, that I'm definitely going back a...More

The most interesting in town, as it allows you to see a different range of cultures and attractions. Very cheap was the cost of the entrance, and it was located on 2 floors (unfortunate ly the 2nd floor was closed when we visited). Very interesting...More

We have been to this museum several times. Often rooms are randomly closed. This time, even though it was the first Sunday of the month "free day" all the rooms were open. That made my husband very happy since his favorite "idolino" was on display...More

Not only is the museum worth a visit but the trip up the hillside is marvellous. As you climb, you see marvellously designed houses and a great view of Florence and the valley.

Our main purpose in visiting was to see the Chimera, Orator and Minerva bronzes. The first two were in a very dark room lit only by some very weak spotlights. The Chimera is the Museum's prime exhibit - as you walk in the entrance, you...More
