This is an impressive stop and loved being able to see sculptures by Michaelangelo up close. Beautiful place.

Visited here as we had brought the FirenzeCard, were staying nearby and had a hour to spare - wow am I glad I did! The Medici tombs are very grand and really give you a sense of how much money these people had. Beautiful chapel...More

I took advantage of the free tour guides offered, and really enjoyed the experience. Learning more about the Medici family and legacy was really great. I was amazed at the opulence the Medici's used to immortalize themselves. I really admired the amount of gold and...More

Stumbled across this place whilst out on an pre-crowd Sunday morning stroll. No lines and nobody else inside this was a great treat! Absolutely stunning ceiling in the main chapel - and the marble sculptures by Michelangelo made the 40 minutes I spent here worthwhile...More

We were surprised to find this historic site housing important Michelangelo sculptures so empty of tourists. Here, in this crypt, is where many of the Medici are buried. A staircase leads up to the stunning Chapel of the Princes, built in the early 17th century....More

This little chapel is so amazing! The ceiling is a beautiful mosaic and just glistens. We were there during some restoration and it did not take away from its grandeur. I laid in the middle of the floor to get fabulous photos!

We sat outside and the atmosphere was lovely, watching people go by. Food was very nice, service was good staff were friendly. The menu was identical to another restaurant we had previously visited but there was enough choice for it not to be a problem....More

See this along with San Lorenzo and the similar but earlier New Sacristy; this place has its own ticket office on the street behind San Lorenzo and different hours. The statues on the Medici tombs are the high point, entered from a poorly marked corridor...More
