SHOPPING AREA
Apr 2019
This open-air market, located in front of the Central Mercado, this street is lined with vendors of all ilk strictly catering to the tourist trade. A lot of the merchandise is not made in Italy but from off-shore (china). If you want trinkets this is were to get them but if you are looking for a top quality items buy elsewhere. It is definitely a tourist trap.

Tourist Junk
Jul 2019
Disappointing. Everything overpriced and cheap. Merchants either didn't understand English or pretended not to and some were hostile.

Quite Interesting

I am not sure how authentic the leather market was as this is my first time visited there. Never see so many leather products all in pne place. I love many things there but not buying anything as I dont know how real it is amd would they gave me any trouble when I am in custom borders.

Not what it used to be
Sep 2018 • Couples
The ever-popular market in a very short, but always crowded street, is far from it used to be. Instead of nice and convenient Italian leather market it is today the place where you can buy anything and everything, but nothing is really local or authentically Italian. You can find this kind of stuff anywhere else, so don’t waist your precious time here...

HOME TO A STREET MARKET
Mar 2018 • Couples
This short, but very crowded street runs from Via Nazionale to Basilica di San Lorenzo, passes Mercato di San Lorenzo, and is lined with kiosks/stalls selling everything under the sun. However, be careful when you buy, as many of the products are not made in Italy. If you are traveling with your wife, keep her away from here or the quick trip to the Basilica will stretch into an hour.

WAS a good market in the past
Aug 2018 • Couples
This nice leather market changed during the last years. Less Italian leather experts, salesman and qualities. Wouldn’t recommend to go there, only indian/Pakistani/Afrikans that sell anything and have everything. You can find some small shops behind the tends in the alley but really few Italians left.dont buy there, support the locals.

Great shopping location
Apr 2018 • Family
We could not believe the deals. If only we needed everything that was there to buy. We did see a lot of great deals and shops. I would spend a little time shopping here and exploring the area.

Exciting....if you like it!

Via dell'Ariento is a truly exciting place, if you really like this sort of market shopping. It is worth walking around and looking at all the stalls selling everything imaginable, from "leather" belts to tiny trinkets. I suppose you get what you pay for...

Usual fare
Feb 2017 • Solo
The street markets are lively and colourful, and whilst not too aggressive, I heard one vendor offer 71% off a leather item to 2 ladies who were walking away.

Haggle, have fun, and check the qualities
