    Early slot is a must
The epitome of the Florence experience. We had pre-booked tickets and were in first at 8:30. It was really special to experience the David phenomenon in peace and quiet. Not mich else to see, so tkae your time, viewing this marvel from all angles

    Tickets in advance!
Florence in the first week of April is absolutely heaving with tourists. We found visiting to be far superior to the Uffizi gallery in terms of organisation. Queues to get in are signposted well and having bought tickets in advance was perfect - we walked in right at our allocated time, when next to us there was a snaking queue of folk who bought tickets on the day and whose waiting time was unknown. While busy, our visit did not seem cramped and there was plenty of space to sit and admire David, and stroll the other galleries, without being jostled by others. Top tip: Definitely buy tickets for your preferred time online before you visit!

Chaos outside but priceless art inside!
It’s obviously worth visiting to see some of the priceless art and to see history of Florence. However there is no real queuing system so it’s chaos outside (even with a timed ticket). Staff don’t organise it and blame tourists for being in the wrong place. The lady selling audio guides inside was rude. Just reliant on the fact that many will buy tickets. Buy tickets in advance of your visit!

    Magnificent
A great museum, definitely one not to be missed. Worth booking in advance, the queues are horrendous. My favourite part (after seeing David) was the carvings that were part done. They gave a real insight as to how the artist works.

Small gallery that holds Renaissance art and the Statue of David
Small gallery with Michangelo’s statue of David and other Renaissance art pieces. I would suggest buying tickets online in advance to ensure that you can enter, as the line was pretty long to get in to pay for regular tickets. You have to pick up the tickets up to 15 minutes prior to your time slot (they won’t let you go in earlier) in a separate line and then they’ll print your tickets. The gallery took about an hour and a half to go through but we were taking our time. There are restrooms inside. There’s ample seating around the gallery.

    Definitely worth a visit
Very interesting museum. There is a concentration of middle age religious art, but also art from the renaissance. Some beautiful Botticellis and of course Michelangelo's David. Also an interesting gallery of musical instruments from the 16-18 C.

    Once inside was amazing
Shew, the line to get in is something else. Even with a times entry, get there 45mins early. We had tickets for 2pm and arrived at 135. Finally got in at 230. If you have the frienze card and made reservations, make sure you get the actual ticket from building #51 right across street from gallery before getting in line.

    Strike Affected Visit
I had waited decades to see David and the amazing work of art did not disappoint. There are no words. The rest of the experience here was beyond disappointing. We had precious, limited time in Florence and this day, the museum staff were on strike. Timed tickets meant nothing. Two hours wasted in one despite having timed tickets. The staff were unfriendly and seemed surprised anyone might be upset at the situation. Some tour guides and visitors were. very animated and the staff were yelling at them in response.

    Home of the David
The Accademia Gallery is most famous for Michelangelo's statue of David. However, there is lots of other works of art and sculptures there to see. I advise to purchase the times tickets online in advance as it makes it easier for entry, especially during very times, which is usually early afternoon.

    David and Other Artwork
Our Trafalgar Tours group had tickets for the 0830 hr to 0845 hr entrance time. There was no wait in the line to enter. The highlight of this museum is definitely Michelangelo’s sculpture of David. It does get quite crowded around the sculpture of David and one needs to be patient. There are also quite a number of other impressive sculptures here. A gift shop is located near the exit. You need to be careful when walking outside the museum since there are vendors that lay posters on the ground.

David is impressive but gallery badly organised.
We bought pre-booked tickets for this gallery for late afternoon. Queuing was chaotic and badly organised. Obviously a top tourist attraction which we expected, but not well thought out. Hundreds of people standing in the road trying to work out where to queue and entrance times delayed by 30 minutes. Huge walking tours like a tidal wave of people inside. David very impressive. Expect a bit of a manic experience and crazy crowds and you'll enjoy

Words cannot express how beautiful the statue of David is. The dome above him was built just for him. There are additional unfinished statues by Michelangelo as you enter David’s room. The artwork is beautiful and there is a music room with rare instruments-including a Stradivarius violin.

Michelangelo's David. What more needs to be said. You've heard that it is the greatest work of art ever created. When you see it, you'll understand. Truly awe-inspiring, even to this or any unsophistcated observer.

Good museum, use some sort of guide so you know what you're looking at other than David! Steve Ricks has a free app for Italy and we used it, very happy we did - would highly suggest. The museum isn't all that big so it won't take long.

Although David Was exquisite, the skip the queue tickets were a farce. The instructions say arrive and exchange your voucher 15 minutes beforehand but we were not allowed to enter for our 11 am tickets until about 11:15. Also the guy on the door was rude and abrupt, as were the staff at the ticket desk, audio guide desk and entry point.

Having visited Uffizi we were undecided about visiting yet more renaissance art.

However seeing David in the original in a perfectly designed setting was definitely worth the entry fee alone. The copies at Piazzo Michelangelo and in the Square were good but being g able to sit and observe the real thing made the day.

If you like Madonnas and Crucifixion scenes then the rest of the gallery was great, but it did feel a little depressing at times

Yes, there are lots of beautiful pieces of art here but the star of the show is The David. Amazing. Just to stand in the same room as him and look at the splendor of the craftsmanship.

Make sure you purchase your ticket in advance. The queue will be a lot smaller.

You booked the time entry on line at the same place for the Uffizi Gallery, nuy you still need to pick up the real tickets. Since we went to Uffizi first, we got the Accademia tickets at the same. Obviously the main attraction here is David, but there are other important pieces as well. Download the Rick Steve audio. You really don't need a tour.

We were part of a tour group visiting Tuscany and our itinerary included a guided tour of the gallery. The lines were very long on the October day we visited (even our tour guide said it was busier than normal) but we got to go into a separate line with pre-purchased tickets. Our group had to break up into three smaller groups and even then the staffer controlling the lines was not consistent. Some groups that were behind us got to go in before us. Our local guide showed us some of the side galleries but the main attraction of course is the statue of David, which is impressive even if you've seen hundreds of pictures of it. I'm sure our tour only scratched the surface of what the gallery has to offer but it definitely is a popular place to visit in Florence.
