Having frequented the Mercato Centro since back in the 60's, I always look forward to this old haunt from the food stalls. It's been a few years since my last visit and I'm somewhat disappointed to say that the new version, which accommodates so many...More

Best market I have ever been to--wish I could bring the offerings home! Best biscotti by far at Cantuccilory on the 1st floor!

There were a lot of tourists (like me) so I cannot say if locals are also visiting this market place. I'll recommend the selfmade pasta place on ground floor. You may chose between different pasta and sauce for 5 euro a dish.

This appeared to be a market like any other. We only stayed on the ground floor and bought some Limoncello because it was in a nice bottle. The surrounding market is filled with what appeared to be non-locals selling the same stuff, mainly leather bags....More

The food hall at the top is great for breakfast or lunch. Had some good meals there, but I love the specialty food shopping below. Cured meats, olive oils, vinegar, wine, etc. I loaded up on cheese for the trip back.

This is a huge covered market close to the main tourist attraction, Piazza Duomo in Florence. Well managed with full range and variety of Italian, especially Tuscany; produce and cooked food in comfortable albeit crowded surroundings. The food stalls on the first floor caters for...More

First time that I have been at the mercato. Food everywhere...Meat waiting to be cut, fruit/vegetables, cheeses, and even places to eat.... Two floors, so don't stop on the ground floor. Found a place on the ground floor called "Porks". Service was great, and the...More

Hi! They are open every day from 10:00am to midnight upstairs (where the food court and bars are). The ground level (fresh food market) is open until 14:00pm each day. Hope this helps!

Just been tonight open until midnight though most of the food outlets closed by 2230 really. Well worth a visit for a noisy chaotic fun experience of food and drink. We will be going again soon
