At the moment there is scaffolding everywhere so doesn't look as good. This was once the city centre, the main market was here. Column of Abundance marks where the Roman forum stood. The present column dates to 1431 but the statue on the top is...More

This was the site of the Old Roman Forum, but today only one lone tall statue and the impressive triumphal arch serve as reminders of illustrious past. There were some cafes around the square, but today folks use the square mainly as a thoroughfare from...More

This is the heart of the city. A perfect blend of cultural quotient that Florence offers and modern world. A must go. The place feels so live and is electrifying. Will make you walk and explore more. Also it is adjoining the cathedral which takes...More

This piazza has never had much appeal to me, other than its size, history, and merry-go-round. In the past it was swarmed with hustlers trying to find a way to get money from you. Currently it’s in a pretty ugly state and doesn’t seem to...More

This is a normally charming spot with a carousel and it faces the delightful Savoy Hotel as well as the oldest cafe in Florence - Gilli - where you can enjoy grand deserts. At the present it is also under heavy construction making it noisy...More

One never gets tired of visiting Piazza della Repubblica. We went many times during our 4 day stay. The Colonna dell’Abbondanza marks the spot of the old Roman settlement. It is an experience, especially the copies of ancient Greek statues.

I like this square because you can see different groups of people, tourists and locals, stay there spending their time. There are beautiful buildings in the surround, a Colonna dell'Abbondanza (Column of Abundance) and a beautiful arch that passes over the via Degli Speziali. There...More

Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by
an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city.
The historic center is characterized by the immensity
of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the
brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does
not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni
Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is
enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city
