You’re right there in the heart of Florence this will be an easy sight to cross of the list. There is also a merry go round nearby. It’s a good spot to note the history of the Romans.

This is a buzzing square in the centre of Florence. full of life and quite nice architecture also quite a few good shops in and around the square

The column sits in the middle of the Piazza Republica, which in and of itself looks beautiful, but as our guide pointed it out the piazza does not have many historical buildings or much significant meaning to the history of Florence
