Beautiful ancient construction

One of the most impressive examples of Norman Arab architecture, this bridge is low rated only because it's far from city center.
For those fascinated by the Norman Arab architecture, the bridge really worth a visit.
The original course of the river has been modified, so the old bridge is currently resting in a little park. It has been built about 900 years ago, following the instruction of George of Antioch, the Admiral of the Norman Kingdom of Sicily.
If you want to have an idea about how this bridge was looking like with the river flowing underneath, search for Guttuso's painting "The Battle of Ponte dell'Ammiraglio".

A chance to get away from the tourists
Jan 2020
This attraction isn't a must-see, but it is pretty interesting and if you go there there is every chance you will have it all to yourself. To get there you will either walk through a part of the city that tourists don't normally go to- or you can take a tram (the stop you get on at is just by the main train station).

I've never seen a bridge quite like it and it was a lovely opportunity to take some pictures and relish being in an area slightly outside the guide books.

A long way to walk to look at a bridge
Jul 2018 • Couples
A nice bridge to look at, but it's a fifteen-twenty minute walk south of the main rail terminal along some of the busiest roads in Palermo. Whilst the bridge itself is pretty enough, there is no information provided, so I had to Google it myself to find out more.
