We are a family of 6 (all adults) & visited Park Uditore to run in the friendly Uditore Parkrun on a Saturday in September. I think the Park was part of an estate owned by a Mafia gang member and the area was given over to the community (there are more attractive parks in Palermo than this one, but none of the others hosts a Parkrun!) The park was full of joggers and walkers out at the same time as us so it's a pity they don't do the parkrun as the participant numbers here are very small (10 of the parkrunners out of the 16 of us there were visiting from the UK!) One of the advertising flags like we have in the UK would be useful to let locals know what is happening at that time every Saturday! There are no toilets in the park but we were able to use a toilet in a petrol station just across the road from the entrance (Macdonalds didn't open until 10). A couple of the marshals and local runners spoke a little English and they were all very welcoming and friendly.

I visited to participate in the Uditore parkrun, first parkrun in Italy (http://www.parkrun.it/uditore/), whilst on holiday in Sicily. Located just off a busy roundabout and quite a small park but pleasant inside. Clearly popular with runners and cyclists, even at 9am on a Saturday morning. As far as I understand, the park is community-maintained, which I liked (fits with the parkrun community mentality). It appeared also to be twinned with St James Park, London (of the Royal Parks!) which was surprising (unless I misunderstood the sign).
