A Devine piece of Architecture
Apr 2021
Simply amazing! Definitely worth a visit. You can hire a guide or you can visit it on your own. Wonderful: the architecture is magnificent, even the smell inside has a kind of mystical meaning. Walking in this church is like walking trough the History.
A superb Prix for eyes and soul.

An utterly astonishing display of art, architecture, and religious artifacts. Historically so important that I encourage visitors to educate themselves before their visit as to appreciate this treasure.

Unpleasant experience
Oct 2020 • Couples
If you pay €13,5 entrance fee you would aspect to be able to go to the bathroom, which is not the case. If you want to use the toilet you have to pay an extra fee. Miserable service.

Beautiful!
Aug 2020
This visit is included in the Norman Palace ticket. It is crowded all the times, and you might need to wait before you go in, but it is totally worth it.

The Cappella Platina will leave you speachless. Absolutely NOT 2 B MISSED.
Jul 2020
The Cappella Palatina built in 1132 is one of the pearls of Arab-Norman art mainly from the huge variety of amazing mosaics with Scriptural scenes. Different scenes of Jesus and the angels and different events from the New Testament, as well as kings and prophets from the Bible. One of the most prominent works in the chapel is the wooden ceiling which is a work of thought of Muslim artists and another notable item is the magnificent “Marble Candlestick” made of white marble.

Amazing is the only appropriate expression

The artistry, history, religious significance is stunning inside the Cappella. It is hard to describe, you have to see it. We stayed for mass on Sunday morning. It was beautiful but a bit longer than I thought it would be. The upper floor with a gallery has a Japan art exhibition at the entrance and other rooms are also fascinating. This is definitely a “don’t miss this sight” on your list of things to do in Palermo.

Magnificent, Historic and Interesting
Jun 2019
This is the chapel at the Norman Palace and is rightly one of the must-see sites in Palermo. It is extremely richly decorated inside with detailed mosaics and a lot of gold. It is also interesting for the mixtures of traditions and styles with the Romano-Byzantine mosaic tradition blending Norman and Arabic-Islamic elements and motifs. There can be a long line and it can be crowded, but it is worth it.
