This made an excellent change from the usual tourist attractions of Cagliari. The bus from the centre to Calamosca ran every 10 to 15 minutes so getting there was not difficult, though the No. 5 bus stops a bit short so you have a 20 minute walk to get to Calamosca itself. We went in early April which meant the weather was a comfortable 22 degrees, which made the climb up to the top not too arduous. Once there you find the views are spectacular. When we were there, there was no wind and very few other people which made the whole walk very quiet and peaceful. At the top we just sat and looked at the views for ages, it was so peaceful. To get there I would recommend good trainers as the terrain was rough, but the navigation was easy as green spots had been painted on the rocks every 5 to 10 meters to show the way. We took 2 hours to get up and down, but it could have been done in a lot less if we hadn't sat around admiring the view. Refreshments at the bar at the bottom, about 50 meters further on down the road from the start of the walk, made a very welcome finish.…

A very nice walk to the top, where you'll find an amazing panorama view of the bay . You can walk or mountain bike your way to the top, here you'll find a old sanctuary for monks back in the 11th century.

A pleasant place to walk, jogging or MTB race especially if done in the evening at sunset which offers a wonderful landscape. A little getaway away from city noise.
