I have wanted to visit the Villa Rotonda ever since first seeing the Losey film of Don Giovanni nearly 40 years ago now and I am glad to have finally made it. We took a cab from the station which took no time at all...More

Go there on Saturday or Wednesday, so you can also see the inside of this architectural gem - frescoes and very interesting furniture. Park around is nice to relax.

We managed to find the local bus to see this lovely Palladian villa. We were the only tourists and everyone on the bus was keen to make sure we got off at the right stop. Roadworks covered the sign post so we did wander around...More

If you love Palladio or interested in his design, then you have to see this building. The interior decorations, not designed by Palladio, are hideous, but well worth a view as they are so over the top. But for an architecture fan, this is a...More

We made sure we saw la Rotonda, on a Saturday when the inside was open to interiors. It is thought to be the most perfect building in the world. From the outside it is a lovely building ,though inside it is truly stunning . The...More

Andrea Palladio is widely regarded as the most influential architect of the 16th century, and this building exemplifies why. About a 45 minute walk from Vicenza train station, a must-see when in the Veneto region in my opinion. Interiors shot attached.

Well worth a visit. Walkable fromVicenza. Despite the miserable staff the architecture and magnificence of the house, views across the fields, made up for them and their unhelpful ness.

Google maps is probably the best way to see a walking map. I don't recommend walking from Vinenza city center or even from the train station - it's a far walk from either. There is a bus which will drop you off on the main... More

Depending on how much you like walking you may walk the distance of about the two miles mentioned above, but if you are a family I would prefer taking a taxi to La Rotunda. Remember to see the opening hours for the inside of... More
