Interesting - worth a visit - guides very helpful, in particular the young archeologist who spoke English and was very kind to my wife to allow her to use the "staff toilet" due to her mobility!! Museo geared to all ages and lift provided but some stairs - it was a castle!!

    Nice museum to visit.
Some really good points with this museum. Love the courtyard area with the greenery along with a nice walk along the wall next to the bridge. Inside castle its ok to see but has been modernised maybe too much, each room in castle becomes the museum, for me maybe to much art work to see. However great place to see and walk around baking with the Ponte next to it.

    As museums go, pretty good
Nicely laid out, the museum gives space to each of the items in there. I went on a Tuesday morning just as it opened so it wasn’t very busy, which meant there was plenty of space to move about and take in whatever I thought was interesting and explore the outside spaces. It was 6€ entry for 1 person - pretty good value for money. The only thing that would of made it a 5/5 would of been a little more information on the wall next to each item - you could purchase an audio tour thing and in some rooms there were descriptions in different languages.

    Excellent visit
We visited all of the tourist must do’s in Verona and this is one of the best. The day we visited it was quiet (no tour groups) we could walk around and investigate at our leisure, inside and outside, good walls to climb and many great photo opportunities. Highly recommend you visit, it really is worth your time.

    Lovely building and lovely artwork
The Castel is a lovely building full of history and oncredible artwork. There are loads of historic art pieces mostly religious but thats what you get in renainssance Italy. A lovely place to explore with some excellent views.

    Fortress
Fortress on the river, containing an art museum and armory display. The sections are somewhat different architecturally. There is access to the ramparts, where you can view the clockworks and hanging garden. The entrance is through the elegant courtyard.

We spent about an hour or so here. Very interesting. You walk through the history, there was a great display of locks/trunks which was surprisingly interesting, good views from the ramparts and then we crossed the bridge. It was nice because being January it wasn’t too busy. Also good value. A strong recommend.

Great building, although, as usual, not much information on display.
The museum is 99% crucifixion or madonna pictures. If that's your thing, you will love it. Its not mine really. There is one room of armoury. And the best bit....one room of keys and locks, which is actually fascinating. Toilet facilities embarassing.

We visited later in the afternoon and it was not crowded, there was loads of time to wander at our leisure and the walk around the walls was very nice. The views from up there are lovely.
Not expensive to get in either.
Well worth a visit.

I've never experienced anything like this - it was really disappointing. The Castelvecchio museum itself is a stunning building with a nice collection of religious art, but our experience with our 6mo baby and 3yo daughter (both seasoned museum-goers!) was extremely poor. Toilet facilities are limited, meaning I had to queue for ages for the pleasure of changing my baby son on the dirty floor of a squat toilet. Pushchairs are not permitted on site, and backpacks must be worn on the front. This is understandable to protect the art, but the museum lacks the facilities to support these requirements. It was extremely challenging to get around the site while carrying two small children and our backpacks off our backs, and staff remained extremely strict despite watching several parents (not just us) visibly struggle around the site. We were also told before we entered that we needed to keep our toddler on a short leash. All in all - a most unfriendly experience and totally unnecessary. A couple of lockers and a changing table would sort it!

A beautiful place to explore. Stunning collection of artwork.
The views from here of Verona are breathtaking. Definitely worth a visit.
Great location lots of restaurants and shops in the surrounding area and it’s walking distance from two popular piazzas, Bra and Erbe.
