This was our first trip to Venice and we were staying in the Hotel Moresco, which is only a short walk from the San Pantaleone church. Because of limited opening hours, it took three attempts before I finally managed to go inside, but it was...More

Had it not been for our guide, Georgia from Friends in Venice, we would not have given this rather ordinary looking church a second glance. How glad we were that she took us in to look at it's ceiling. It is covered by the biggest...More

This church proves the saying "Don't judge a book by it's cove'" The stunning interior more than compensates the blank exterior. A definite must for all art lovers

Situated away from touristic area of Venice, this is a very underrated church with a breathtakingly beautiful ceiling painting inside. Entrance is free, but you can't take pictures inside. The area itself is also much nicer than overcrowded San-Marco. A lot more venetian.

You will be stunned the first glance on that spectacular ceiling. Trust me on this. Whatever frescos you have seen in Rome/Florence may be less attractive after you see this great piece of art. Photos prohibited so please Google for relevant photos. It may take...More

San Pantalon is the Sistine Chapel of Venice, may be even better! It is absolutely stunning! The church looks very ordinary from the outside, but it's another world inside.

Leave the main tourist areas to visit this building. The interior is very good and should nit be missed.

The exterior of the church isn't looking good, the facade look's incomplete. But wait until you see that amazing ceiling! Pictures are not allowed, but once all the other visitor gone, I ask politely, in the best Italian that I can, if I could just...More

The church is open all day but avoid the times when church services are on. Have some change ready for the light machines. Enjoy!
