I enjoyed walking in Dorsoduro much more than in San Marco because it's so much quieter and more peaceful. I highly recommend taking the 2Euro boat from San Marco across Grand Canal and then walking towards Peggy Guggenheim museum and Accademia and going inside Ca'Rezzonico...More

One of the best ways to see this district is by taking a walking tour. A tour gives an overview of museums, churches, and eateries. Then you can go back later to experience more in depth.
