Gondolas are of course the most romantic, but the vaporetto (water bus) is by far the cheapest way of getting around Venice and they are accessible by wheelchair. There are two lines with different routes. To do sigseeing, just stay on the bus for a...More

You can't go to Venice with out going on the gondola. It was fabulous. He also tells you a little bit of history as we went around. It was €80 but there was 4 of us so it only cost €20 each

This canal moves the city. Its history and beauty are not diminished by the crowds of people and boat traffic. The Canal Grande is a hard working passage and the city would not be Venice without it. Excellent spot for people watching and boat watching....More

We took a ferry ride along the canal early afternoon. The weather was absolutely perfect - bright and sunny. The boat traveled at just the right speed so you could fully take in the scenic views and architecture along the route. Truly breathtaking !

We took the public ferry called a “vaporetto” and cruised on the canal. It was 7.50E per person. The downside is that it stops frequently. Another alternative is a private water taxi.
