Walk anywhere in Venice and you are walking along the Canal, its a sight! I hate to see or smell it in summer, given its age, I hope Venice keeps it sanitary! Totally worth the visit!

I booked a gondola ride with a photo shoot through Viator as a surprise for proposing to my now-fiancee. While it was a little chilly in January, you can't beat the views and the ambience.

Traveling through the canal grande gives you the true sense of what Venice is all about. You watch the people walking along buying food and heading home, you see the tourists window shopping and popping into stores. You feel the wind blowing by you as...More

Not sure why you would go out of your way to see this particular canal but it is there and has some handsome buildings on it, best viewed from the centre of the canal however.

Did a Gondola tour aroung the smaller canals and then out into the Grande canal. Awesome. Also took a speed boat (like those in the 'Bond' movies), out to a glass blowing factory. A must do experience.

If you only have a short time in Venice, make it a boat trip on the Grand Canal. Do it as the locals do, by vaporetto.

There is no question that the Grand Canal is a must see experience as although Venice is quaint and incredible, the streets and allies are tight with limited views. The broad perspective a tour of the canal brings is worth every dime you pay to...More

Venice is an expensive city, there is nothing cheap. The hard is find the adecuate price for good service and food. I think that no less than 100 euros/pax is needed.

good evening i've experienced once a gondola trip with kids but they hadn't any safety vest. I don't think this is a duty in Venice but the gondolas are very stable (when sitted)

Points to consider; Venice is cold right now. Travelling in an open gondola with kids may be a little miserable due to this. Also it rains a fair bit at present. There are no life vests that be seen. However gondolas are... More
